Item Description

A rich, sculptural and classic combination from this famous gold mine. Morro Velho produced some of the very finest siderite crystals and this is a highly representative example. Lustrous, translucent, flattened yellow-green rhombs with striking stepped-growth faces cover the two-sided elongated mounded piece. Clusters of glassy, tabular dolomite crystals and quartz point sections are typical and fine accessories to this excellent combination from the Francesco Bedogne Collection # 1020. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector.
