Item Description

Old-time, classic and unusual calcite from the historic mines at St. Andreasberg. The aesthetically intergrown pair consists of a very fine, glassy, transparent to translucent blocky rhomb with striking multiple faces. Attached to the side is a very nifty and unusual nested twinned nailhead rhomb! The large rhomb is complete all-around and essentially pristine with only a trivial bit of scuffing. There is a secondary attachment crystal on the bottom. The twin is pristine, except for the attachment cleave on bottom. A fascinating 360-degree calcite with multiple display views from the 1800s, as the last mines closed in 1910. Neon-pink fluorescence!
