Item Description

A surreal looking rose quartz specimen from an uncommon Brazilian locale - Governador Valadares. A striking "ribbon" with a fantastic "arm" of luscious pink, gemmy parallel-growth growth crystals is dramatically set on a glassy, lustrous, partially euhedral quartz crystal. Most of the beautiful crystals are doubly terminated, with the crystals on the "arm" reaching 1.7 cm. One side and the chisel termination face of the quartz are all there. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3488 and acquired from Sol Shale in the mid-1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record) and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). An exquisite, rare style and rare old-time rose quartz from this locale. All of the rose quartzes are pristine. Valued at $1750-2000 for quality and rarity.
