Item Description

An adorable flattened arborescent crystallized copper specimen with a curved "trunk" from the famous Ray Mine. Having an overall spinel-twinned form, the "branches" and "leaves" are composed of sharp spinel-twins and tetrahexahedral crystals with a nice patina. An old specimen from the Kay Robertson Collection # 112 and probably acquired in the 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Classic old-time Ray copper.
