Item Description

A VERY RARE diamond from this landlocked West African State. This lustrous, gray-brown 2.40 carat subhedral diamond is a carbonado. Carbonado is a massive, opaque, gray, brown, or black variety of diamond used as an abrasive and in rock drill bits. Specimens are rarely available from ANY locality, since they are mined industrially and turned into powder! The value is in industrial purposes. Ex David Burgess Collection.
