Item Description

Rich violet-purple, lustrous, translucent amethyst crystals with satin luster faces are dramatically set in parallel-growth on the massive smoky quartz matrix on this fantastically sculptural large combination from this well-known Montana locale. The Little Gem Mine was discovered prior to 1918 and has produced excellent amethyst specimens over the years. This piece has exeptional form, with the large 4.0 cm crystal at the peak. The few noted gently bruised crystals certainly have only minimal impact to the overall very high quality. This outstanding large specimen was formerly in the Geary Murdock Collection, a well-known Idaho and Montana field collector, so you know it's a Good One. Pieces of this size and quality are very seldom on the market. Value?? Try to find another. We feel $1000-1500 is fair.
