Item Description

Brown, oxide-tinted, moderately lustrous and translucent smithsonite rhombs have pseudomorphed a sculptural cluster of sharp, hexagonal pokerchip calcite rhombs on this showy and classic pseudo from the famous San Antonio Mine at Santa Eulalia. The pseudos reach 3.4 cm. Most smithsonite after calcites from here are after calcite scalenohedrons, so this is a very uncommon and desirable varietal. A choice and rare classic from the Ken Roberts Collection.
