Item Description

A striking, sculptural two-sided plate of intergrown jagged, glassy, translucent barite blades is dramatically accented on both sides with clusters of sharp, lustrous, metallic silver and golden marcasite crystals. Amazingly the barite is totally pristine. The small attachment is at the base in the marcasite. A choice example from the 2011-12 finds at this less well-known Moroccan mine from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
