Beautiful, gem, turquoise-blue chrysocolla has pseudomorphed a sculptural two-sided vug filled with lozenge-shaped azurite crystals, to 2.3 cm, from the famous Inspiration Mine Open Pit. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 734 and acquired from Scott Williams in the late 1950s. Previously in the Walters Collection with a 1958 date on the Williams label (included). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
