Fluoro-richterite is a rare member of the Amphibole Supergroup. The world's finest examples easily come from localities in Haliburton County, Ontario, Canada. This is an exceptional floater, doubly terminated prism with high luster, moderate translucence and grayish-brown mottled color. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. The bit of brusing near one end is certainly only a modest detraction to this very fine example of this Canadian rarity from the Dr. Matthius Mangold Collection.
