Item Description

Sculptural and impressive large smoky quartz from Governador Valadares and the Paul Zerfass Collection # 1181. Strikingly enechelon, terminated gem smoky quartz crystals are supremely lustrous, glassy, have entrancing variable smoky color and are dramatically set like a jagged moutain on the massive smoky quartz matrix. The crystals reach 5.5 cm and some are doubly terminated. The form of the beautiful intergrown smokies remind me of scales on a crocodile's hide. Smoky quartz specimens are uncommon from this noted Minas Gerais area and this is a remarkable large two-sided example.
