Item Description

Striking intergrown plumose sprays of lustrous, dark metallic berthierite lathes with nifty bronzy, silver-metallic and peacock-blue iridescence form a classic and excellent small cabinet from this historic old mine. Berthierite is an uncommon Fb-Sb sulfosalt. Ex Ted Bartels Collection. This is an unusually aesthetic specimen for a species usually relegated to clunky and dull specimens. It is elegant and sculptural. The piece displays better vertically, but the fine iridescent luster really lights up, when the piece is horizontal. Valued at $500.
