Item Description

A RARE and adorable pseudomorph combination thumbnail from this well-known Swiss valley. Goethite has pseudomorphed a well-placed, VERY RARE for the locale, 1.1 cm pyrrhotite crystal. A gem quartz point dramatically projects upward and the piece is fantastically accented with rust-brown, hair-like sprays of Aminath (Byssolite synonym), an Amphibole Supergroup varietal. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 10830 and acquired in October, 1985. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A fascinating and RARE 360-degree Swiss thumbnail cutie.
