Item Description

Siderite is RARE from this famous Swiss locale. Intergrown, lustrous, chocolate-brown siderite rhombs are aesthetically perched on a parallel-growth cluster of glassy, transparent to translucent quartz points. Some of the points are doubly terminated, adding character. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12019 and acquired from Cal Graeber at the 1989 MSSC Show. Formerly in the Marion Godshaw Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A RARE and sculptural Swiss combination.
