Item Description

Symplesite is a rare iron arsenate. Specimens are not readily available on the market, especially from Germany. Saubachriss is probably the best known German locality for the species, and with that said, I've only seen a few of them over the years. This piece features radial crystals of Symplesite which have altered to soft blue colored Scorodite. Classic rare material, and certainly worth picking up for any species collector. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10537). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
