Item Description

These are truly some of the most distinctive crystals in the world because virtually no other species has this amazing color. These Manganese-bearing Vesuvianite crytals are rather vibrant with an intense reddish-violet color. This eye-catching thumbnail specimen features prismatic crystals with the classic purplish-pink color that is intermixed with slightly contrasting green zones of Vesuvianite within the same crystals. They have great luster and form as well. Pieces like this are becoming very scarce on the market, and truly should be appreciated for the uniqueness. The Jeffrey Mine is now completely defunct and these amazing Vesuvianite specimens are no longer being found. Some of the crystals on the piece are contacted, but the quality, color and luster are still very good. Ex Charlie Key personal collection. Charlie is arguably the most sucessful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
