Densely intergrown royal-blue azurite microcrystals have beautiful "electric-blue" color under bright light and are accented with scattered contrasting patches of emerald-green primary malachite microcrystals on this large sculptural and showy combination plate from the famous mines at Bisbee. The side view reveals the alternating bands of azurite and malachite on this dense and sturdy piece. Undoubtedly older material, but no proof. Previously in the Robert Lambert Collection. Classic and excellent large Bisbee combination material from the Ted Bartels Collection.
