Item Description

Sculptural and showy combination barite and malachite from the well-known mid to late 1990s finds at this Cu-Co mine. These are Katanga's best barites by far. Aesthetically intergrown glassy, translucent colorless barite spearpoints, to 3.5 cm, are lightly infused with malachite and rest on a matrix of velvet malachite botryoids. A fine example of this combination material, minimally impacted by a couple of dinged crystals. Ex Ted Bartels Collection and acquired the Denver Show in Septembe, 1997.
