Item Description

This extinct Leadville District silver mine is famous for some of Colorado's finest barite specimens and this is a very rich and showy solid example from the Ted Bartels Collection. Densely intergrown, jackstraw style clusters of lustrous, glassy, tabular golden barite prisms comprise this sculptural 360-degree specimen. The crystals on the bottom reach 4.7 cm. The mine closed in 1982. A desirable Colorado classic.
