Item Description

A stunning, sculptural and very rich large flattened combination crystallized copper specimen from the famous Ray Mine. The striking two-sided piece is composed of a myriad of tiny, sharp, tetrahexahedral copper crystals and strikingly accented with intertwined spinel-twins and dramatic projecting spinel-twins at the top, some composed of stacked sharp crystals. The whole piece is heavily infused with cuprite and bright wine-red hairs of cuprite variety chalcotrichite are clearly visible. An oustanding large copper combination from Ray from the Ted Bartels Collection. It comes with a with a Gerstmann's label, well-known Franklin collectors and dealers, dating from the early 1960s to 1980. Valued at $1250.
