Item Description

Rhodochrosite is EXTREMELY RARE from ANY Bolivian locality. MINDAT lists 11 localities for the species, but there are no Gallery photos. Prominent knobs of translucent pastel-pink frosted rhombs cover the distinctively banded rhodo matrix. Ex W.S. Logan Collection # X10-2 and illustrated in Bill's 2013 self-published book, Rhodchrosite - Crystals of Drama and Nuance, on Page 104 with an extensive paragraph. His label indicates the well-known San Jose Mine, famous for world-class sulfosalt species. MINDAT does not list rhodochrosite for the locale. A UNIQUE rhodo, if from Bolivia!
