Item Description

A dynamic, sculptural cluster of intergrown witherite crystals from the Rosiclare District. The lustrous, translucent, whitish-gray, textbook, pseudo-hexagonal crystals have typical well-developed, stepped-growth faces. The two prominent towers at the top and the unusual etched hoppered terminations add real pizzazz. Clusters of this richness and quality are RARE from here. Exceptional and classic older material from this famous district. Ex Pappy Yeats Collection, formerly in the Texas Tech Geology Department (A well known collection of a prominent geologist, sold off in the 1980s). Ex Ted Bartels Collection. White fluorescence.
