Item Description

Splendent sharp silver- and golden-metallic lollingite crystals cover all sides of this very rich and showy specimen from the well-known Fe-rich magnetite skarn deposits in the district. The Monchi Mine was the most important and last to close in 1978 (MINDAT). It is also noted for excellent and uncommon lollingite specimens, such as this. Ex Raul Sanabria Collection, co-author of the article on the Burguillos del Cerro deposits and illustrated on Page 13, Vol. II, No. 3 of Revista de Minerales 2002.
