Item Description

A striking, very sculptural, old-time, combination specimen from Copper Country and the University of Delaware Collection. The sculptural matrix is solid copper. A striking, 1.8 cm, knob of euhedral silver crystals crowns a stalk of hackly, platy, to crystallized copper, with a nice patina. Sharp, tiny, glassy, calcite scalenohedrons are attractively concentrated on the front and back of the piece. There are about four more smaller pods of silver on the front and a couple on the back. A nifty "ball" in the middle skyline of the piece is composed mainy of pretty, gemmy, epidote microcrystals with more clusters on the back. Much of the lower body is coated with malachite. This fine combination old-timer has fine form and composition. Silver/copper combos of this quality and form are not that common.
