Item Description

A wonderfully sculptural and colorful small cabinet pyromorphite from this well-known mine on the other side of the mountain and connected to the famous Daoping Mine. Lustrous, rich apple-green prisms are richly and dramatically clustered on the essentially solid pyromorphite crust. The nicely hoppered crystals reach 1.3 cm. Very nearly pristine, with only a couple of bruised prisms on the right periphery, which is certainly only a modest detraction. This rich apple-green color is one of the most highly coveted varietals from this famed locale. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 13021 and acquired in 2001 or 2002, when they came out. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). The piece displays beautifully without aid.
