Item Description

A darling, colorful, brightly coated with malachite and cuprite, copper specimen from this well-known, now extinct, open pit copper mine, that was worked from 1957-1965 (MINDAT). Documented specimens from here are RARE. This adorable 360-degree arborescent miniature of spinel-twinned copper crystals with tiny sharp tetrahexahedral crystals is highlighted by the dramatic spike at the crest and by the bright green and red malachite and cuprite coatings. An outstanding and rare Black Rock Open Cut copper from the Rob Sielecki Collection, a prominent Australian dealer and collector. Valued at $500.
