Item Description

A monstrous Quartz / Chalcedony gemstone from a new discovery in Peru. Our source in Lima sent this stone in a recent parcel, and couldn't give us any locality information outside of "Peru". He said that it was polished by one of the locals from a piece of rough that came in a few months ago. With that said, it's a huge "Oval Cabochon" cut gem that shows a mix of warm beige, golden and cream colored hues. The center of the stone shows a bit of smoky and black banding which almost makes it look like clouds hovering over a celestial body, or similar to the gas giants like Jupiter in our solar system. For the starting bid, the stone is priced at just over 20 cents per carat, so it's a great opportunity to pick up a really impressive stone for a low price.
