Item Description

Tourmalines are some of the most diverse and popular gems out there. They're one of the few gems that occur in natural bicolor stones as well. The majority of bicolor Tourmalines on the market today are Afghani in origin, and remain as some of the most attractive in the gem world. This particular gem was cut from a piece of rough found last year in Afghanisan. The stone shows a distinct pink color throughout most of the stone and a green color on the other end. One of the most impressive aspects of this gem is the fact that it is nearly eye clean, which is remarkable for Tourmaline as the material is classified as a "Type 3" gemstone, and inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors, so when you find a clean stone like this, especially a bicolor gem, it's a real treat. I have to say that these stones are becoming harder and harder to find these days with so much gem Tourmalines coming out of Africa lately. It is a great naturally occurring bicolor gem for your collection. There are not many natural bicolor gems out there, and Tourmalines not only continue to increase in popularity, but in value as well, as we have seen the price increase nearly every year for the last decade.
