Item Description

It should be noted that Emeralds cannot be held to the same clarity standard to which most stones are held. Emerald is classified as a type-3 gemstone (the same as Tourmaline) which means that inclusions are almost always present, but they are perfectly acceptable for collectors and dealers. It's incredibly rare to find a truly "clean" Emerald that is over a carat in weight. This stone, despite having some minor inclusions, has a rich saturated hue for its size. The greatest aspect of this stone is the fact that it comes from the northern area of Brazil in Bahia, which is known for producing some great color Emeralds, and large individual crytals, but fine quality faceted gems are seldom seen. This stone is a beautiful, fine green color, "Modified Keystone" cut gem from this lesser known locality. It's a unique locality gem and the color is simply BETTER than the photos indicate, as Emerald is one of the most difficult gems in the world to reproduce the color. Priced at $500 per carat retail.
