Item Description

In the gem world, Garnet comes in every color of the rainbow except blue. Some of the best orange Garnets in the world are those from the famous Little Three Mine in San Diego County, California. This locality is permanently closed, and will never produce these amazing gems again. These are certainly some of the best orange color Garnet ever found, and arguably the best from North America with regard to the color. This stone is a very good quality, saturated, very slightly included bright orange color gemstone with an "Oval Brilliant" cut. This material is almost totally pure in Manganese and has very little Iron content, which is why the stone is so orange and not red. This gem could be called what is being marketed as "Mandarin Garnet", because of the intense orange color. This stone came to us from Bill Larson's personal gem collection, and was priced at $250.00 per carat retail, so this is a great opportunity to pick up a fine natural gemstone from the U.S. for a rock bottom price!
