Chrome Tourmaline

This unique material is really some of the most beautiful Tourmaline I've seen. There have been crystals of this material on the market for a few years, but rarely are they clean enough to cut stones. We were able to get our hands on a small parcel of fine rough several months ago, and we're happy to have these attractive stones to offer in the auction. This stone shows an imperial green color face up and really sparkles in the light. The stone is VVS in clarity with a lovely "Oval Brilliant" cut. It doesn't get more green than this, which is caused by the presence of chromium, a strong chromophore in the gem world. If you collect Tourmalines, these dazzling stones are a must-add to your collection.
