Description:A really interesting and unique faceted stone of natural (unheated) bicolor Sapphire from Sri Lanka. This "Round Brilliant" cut stone shows a mix of very dark blue and lighter yellow-green hues. The ligher yellow-green coloring may or may not be caused by Rutile inclusions. I showed it to a couple people who deal in Sapphires on a full time basis, and they couldn't say for sure what was causing the bicolor effect, but they said that Rutile was probably the most likely culprit. It's not a just a naturally occuring bicolor gem, which is rare enough in the gem world, but it potentially plays host to another mineral inside. A cool stone for any collector, and certainly unique. You don't see a lot of these on the market.
