Spinel is another gem that comes in a great range of colors. Most people are familiar with the Ruby Spinels, but a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. This is a beautiful ROYAL purple Spinel from Sri Lanka (not Burma). It is an attractive gem with about as rich of a purple hue (without being black) as you can ask for. This is a deep purple hue, like a rich Zambian Amethyst. The gem is nearly eye clean in clarity and has a traditional "Oval Brilliant" cut. This is certainly a good quality Spinel with a wonderful color. The high retail price on this gem is $370.00.
