Item Description

Star gems are not terribly common in the world, and despite the vast number of Quartz gems in the world, very few of them have stars present. This star effect is called asterism in the gem world, and it occurs when small inclusions of one mineral are reflected inside of the host gem. This Star Quartz stone has a soft golden hue when backlit, but it's mostly white in reflected light. It has a high domed "Roval Cabochon" cut and under strong lighting shows a faint 4-ray star. The star is pretty sharp when you get the correct lighting on there, but it doesn't show up well enough in the photos. In some light the stone actually looks like a "cat's eye" stone as half of the star is visible at certain angles. Don't miss out on this rare Quartz stone. Enjoy.
