Item Description

Emeralds have long been admired by generations of collectors, dealers and enthusiasts alike. Most Emeralds originate from Colombia, but they are known from North Carolina where they are found near the famous Hiddenite localities. This particular stone is a great locality gem, and you don't see many North Carolina Emeralds on the market these days. This "Square Emerald" cut gem has a soft emerald green color, with typical clarity for an Emerald this size, as most Emeralds have visible inclusions or are translucent at best in many cases. The stone was cut from rough mined in the early 1970's after Hurricane Ginger ravaged North Carolina. A really cool "locality" gem for a collector of US stones.
