Item Description

This fine and classic German specimen is from the famous Dreislar Mine in Sauerland. The lustrous, creamy-white, tabular blades of Baryte are beautifully accented by iridescent and brassy Chalcopyrite crystals that range up to 4mm. The high luster, crystal form, and flashes of multiple colors are exactly what you want from Chalcopyrite. The combination of the two species creates a great aesthetic, which is why these specimens have always been sought after. Dreislar is one of the world's classic localities for Baryte, and this was #3511 in Kay's collection.
