Item Description

Childrenite is a rare phosphate found in low temperature hydrothermal veins and is uncommon from the Mendes Pimental area of Minas Gerais. This large cluster of bladed Childrenites has been replaced by the iron rich variety of eosphorite (Ernstite) , with their rich, rust-brown color, are stacked parallel on matrix. This robust style 'mountain range' appearance is actually quite aesthetic, and not like any I have seen from here. Acquired in 1971 from Lidstrom's, this quite unusual small cab was #6446 in Kay's collection.
