Item Description

For a short time during the early 1970's, this quarry in Indiana produced outstanding and instantly recognizable Fluorite specimens. 1.8 cm on edge, this Fluorite crystal, perched perfectly on limestone matrix, looks like a cut jewel with its golden color, outstanding gemminess, and glassy luster. Even with one contacted corner in the back by the matrix, and two tiny dings, the radiance and beauty of this crystal is not diminished at all. Frankly, the aesthetics are simply killer, and it can be shown from any one of several good presentation angles. Very good fluorescence, as well. Highly sought-after, Fluorites of this quality frim Fort Wayne are rarely seen any more. Acquired during the quarry's heyday in 1973, this was #7046 in Kay's collection.
