Stibnite and Calcite

Item Description

Two fine sprays of Stibnite frame this Teton-like line of Calcite crystals from Mexico. The lustrous Stibnite blades range from 1-2 cm, and the excellent, gemmy, Calcite scalenohedrons reach 2.4 cm. The quality of this combination is notable on every level, and the aesthetics are appealing. It is just right to the eye. Interestingly, I have seen nothinbg quite like this from Oaxaco, but similar specimens have certainly been mined in Zacatecas. Acquired from Lidstrom's in 1970, this fine miniature was #6104 in Kay's collection.
