Item Description

Well-formed, classic Tetrahedride crystals highlight this fine, old-time small cab from the Clausthal-Zellerfeld area in Saxony. The triangular, beveled habit is perfect for a Tetrahedrite, and the largest crystal is 1 cm on edge. A healthy coating of bright, iridescent Chalcopyrite adds greatly to the attractiveness. The Tetrahedrites also have a preferential draping of Dolomite crystals that extends up from the matrix, which itself covered by Dolomite and Siderite crystals. A fine combination piece, there is just a small amount of wear on the unprotected tips of the two largest Tetrahedrite crystals. Considering its age, that is remarkably small amount of wear. #4148 in Kay's collection, she acquired this in 1964 from F. Krantz, and there is an additional old old label included.
