Kyanite

Item Description

Beautiful, single crystal (not terminated) of Kyanite from a long-lost locality in Tasmania. The gemminess and luster are both very good, but what is most striking is the sapphire-blue zone that bisects the sky-blue crystal along c-axis. It adds greatly to the aesthetics of this old-timer that was #451 in Kay's collection. NOTE: we are not 100% sure of this locality. it is old and unreported with photos. It has been suggested that this might be an exceptional piece from the Northern territories, as well.
