The Smoky Quartz crystals of Giuv Valley uphold the formidable Swiss reputation of producing the world's finest Smokies. This cluster, dominated by a 3.8 cm crystal, is all you could expect. The Smoky Quartzes are lustrous and GEMMY, with the cluster itself having an attractive architecture that enhances the crystals. The crystals even have a preferential coacting of green Chlorite, which is always a fascinating effect that so often enhances the aesthetics, as we have here. The clear, uniform brown color shows up beautifully, as you would expect. This was # 7714 in Kay's collection, and it was previously in the Shale Collection.
