Item Description

I understand that Tourmaline and Quartz are not rare minerals, but this is honestly the first time I've seen a crystal of Tourmaline ON an "alligator" Quartz scepter from Divino das Laranjeiras. A 4.8 cm, prismatic, striated, lustrous, dark blue-green color Tourmaline crystal lies perpendicular on the stepped, lustrous, slightly smoky "alligator" Quartz that has formed a scepter growth over a preexisting Smoky Quartz crystal with minor Albite at the base. The Tourmaline is actually doubly-terminated, and really looks beautiful on top of the Quartz. You will need strong lighting to see the color in the Tourmaline, but it's NOT black. The tip of the big Quartz crystal has a tiny bit of roughness, otherwise I don't see any damage with the naked eye. A showy and unusual association piece from a locality that is best known for its unique Quartz specimens. Priced at $1800 in the inventory.
