Spessartine with Quartz

Item Description

A very attractive, classic Spessartine from Navegadora featuring dozens of incredibly sharp, very lustrous, heavily striated and skeletal, dodecahedral crystals intermixed with Quartz here and there. The color is a deep red-orange when viewed with reflected light, but through transmitted light, it exhibits a rich red color with lighter red-orange zones around the edges where the Spessartines are thinner. The main Spessartine at the top of the piece measuers 1.7 cm across. These specimens seemed to have "dried up" on the market recently, and its a shame because they are simply some of the most unique and distinctive Garnet crystals extant. The combination of unique form, lustrous faces, and intense color make these specimens a must-have for any Garnet collector. Valued at $1500 in the inventory.
