Item Description

A wonderful, gemmy crystal group of Tourmaline from the famous Sapo Mine in Brazil. This mine has recently produced some very enticing Apatite specimens, but the Tourmalines are certainly distinctive, HIGHLY colorfll, and sought after by collectors. This particular specimen features several colors starting with an beautiful blue color on the basal terminations, and then grades into a golden hue, and finishing with a vibrant pink color in the majority of the prism. Along with being a multi-color specimen, this is also a "watermelon" Tourmaline as you can clearly see the outer "rind" surrounding the pink interior on the bottom crystal that is contacted. Interestly, there is a unique "curved" crystal at the top of the piece that nearly makes a 45 degree turn. This "curved" crystal also shows an attractive "cat's eye" appearance when rotated in the light. Valued at $1200-$1500.
