Item Description
Superbly emplaced atop its silvery micaceous matrix, is a large, complete, 5 cm across, crystal of lustrous red almandine. This is a very dramatic garnet specimen! Aside from its size, it is significant as a USA locality piece. This mine was worked for mica back in the 1800s, though there is no telling when this came out. Large size, great form, dramatic display - the historic locale is a bonus but to a USA collector, is quite significant. Valued $1500-1800
