Item Description
A large, vertical cluster featuring what seems to be a Stalactitic growth of glassy and gemmy, colorless quartz, with individual crystals to 4 cm in length, shooting out. It is not stalactitic. The term "faden" in German, means thread or stringm where you see a unified nucleus line growing up, from which the crystals sprout out. This feautre is nearly unique to quartz, and produces these unusual specimens only rarely and from a few localities in nature. This is a fine specimen, complete all around except only a small contact in the back upper portion, and valued $1000-1250. In person, if you have not seen these, they are uniquely dramatic among quartz specimens.
