Item Description

Crystals of Magnetite from the Nordmark District are RARE on the market, and I can't say that we've actually had one to offer prior to this specimen. It features many sharp, well-formed, lustrous, jet-black, brilliant "stacked" octahedra measuring up to 3 mm on matrix. Very good quality, and very little damage. If you collect Magnetite, oxides, or minerals of Sweden or general European minerals, don't miss out on this attractive and elusive specimen from Sweden. From the worldwide collection of famed Italian mineral collector, field collector and author, Francesco Bedogne of Sondrio, Italy (Collection #2212). Bedogne wrote dozens of articles and several books about the mineralogy of Italian Alpine localities such as Val Bregaglia, Val Masino, Val Codera, Val Spluga, Valtellina and the famous Val Malenco. He was also the founder of the Valtellinese Mineralogical Institute.
