Sapphire (Color Change)

Color change stones are rare in the gem world, and they are highly sought after by collectors. One of the most well-known examples are the rare color change Sapphire from Sri Lanka. This stone shows a nice change of color starting with a fine pinkish-purple color in incandescent lighting that changes to lovely lilac-blue color in sunlight. We had a difficult time showing off the color in sunlight, but please know it's better in person. We've found that the gem will actually display slightly different colors in halogen lighting, fluorescent lighting, and incandescent lighting. The stone is nearly eye clean in clarity with a lovely "Pear" cut. A great gem to add to a rare stone collection or the perfect center piece for a ring or pendant.
