Item Description

This is the first specimen of this material that we've ever had to offer in the auctions. A fantastic and fine quality pseudomorph from the world famous, historic and HIGHLY prolific locailty at Mont Saint-Hilaire. This toenail sized specimen is a pseudomorph of Ancylite-(Ce) replacing a prismatic crystal of Burbankite sitting aesthetically atop a prism of Natrolite (?). The pseudomorph measures 2.0 cm from base to termination. It should be noted that the Poudrette Quarry is known for a myriad of pseudomorphs, many of which are unique to the locality and often include rare species. The pseudomorph is excellent quality and the termination is undamaged, but it's slightly contacted along the prism. It is incredibly difficult to find euhedral crystals of Burbankite from any world locality, and to find a pseudomorph like this I believe has only been reported from MSH. The piece was priced in the inventory at $950 and it's worth it in my mind as it is now very difficult to obtain specimens from this locality as collecting has been limited / reduced in recent years. If you collect minerals from this world famous quarry, or worldwide pseudomorphs, don't miss out on this attractive, rare specimen.
